August Picture Post: Gym Bodz

Disgust? Intimidation? Arousal? What would your reaction be? (I know it is hard to believe but there are some who would be disgusted at the sight of a genuine female muscle beast at their gym. Or at least they would claim to be disgusted…)

Reasons why it is probably not a good idea to get competitive or try to impress her by lifting as much or more weight than she is: 1. Risk of serious injury. 2. She is hardly going to be impressed if you can only do half a rep with that weight, is she?

Arousal? Looks to me like Marthe Sundby is plenty aroused by the pump she’s got going here. Training is my passion, she says. And she obviously means it.

Intimidation? Looking powerful, feeling powerful. And if you don’t get your scrawny self off that machine and into a far corner of the gym tout de suite, Virginia is going to demonstrate how powerful she is by throwing you through the wall. Yikes!!!

Arousal? Muscles bulging in and out of revealing skin tight gym wear. Mouth-watering muscles, mouth-watering curves. Curves where lesser women don’t even have bits. Superior women know what their muscle curvy bodies do to you. Aleesha knows. Kashma knows. Margie knows. One look and you’re scurrying to the locker room.

Alpha. Gillian won’t take that selfie till the last man/woman has been inimidated out of her space, until her ownership of the gym is absolute. Lisa, meanwhile, well, Lisa loves an audience, loves to have all eyes in the gym on her. Lisa loves a reaction, and judging from the position of the guy on the right’s hands, she’s getting one here.

Be warned. Your fascination for female muscle is limitless, but, as a man, multi-tasking is not your strong point. Attempting any kind of actual lifting while simultaneously checking her muscles out is going to be a fast track to injury and/or humiliation. Do not, under any circumstances, do as this Freitas-fixated fella is doing and attempt to press anything without giving it your full attention. Focus on ONE thing, dude!

Be warned. Tape it down! Seriously, if you know Shannon Peters trains in your gym (or you’ve found out where Shannon trains and made it your gym despite the fact it’s a four-hour round trip) then you only have yourself to blame if everyone can see your mini Mars bar causing a commotion in your gym shorts. What did you think was going to happen? And now you are ‘Stiffy Guy’ to all at the gym. Including Shannon. Doh!

Wings of Strength

I think there’s been a misunderstanding, and I want to clear things up.

More than a few bloggers have been claiming that Jacqueline “Jay” Fuchs wants them to soap/scrub/rinse/dry her back. Well, she doesn’t. It’s me she wants.

Good. I feel better for that.

So much better in fact that I am prepared to show I hold no grudge whatsoever with those making misguided claims concerning the above scenario. Let’s face it, Jay does have a really really wonderful back and all, exactly the kind of back you’d exchange a body part for the chance to soap up, but she isn’t (thankfully) the only muscle angel with such wings of strength. And I’m not a greedy man, so to show there’s no hard feelings, let’s say I get to do Jay, and you can take your pick from the others…

Now, that’s not such a bad deal, is it?

I mean, if I’m prepared to offer you Jill Rudison, Ms Quads Not Included herself, and all her glorious muscular detail above, you know I’m feeling generous. Jill, I’ll say when she pops round for one of her bi-weekly visits to FMS HQ, Jill, I’m sorry I won’t be able to check those cuts out from now on, you’ve had your last special massage off me, I’ll say. But don’t worry, [insert your name here] is going to take over, and he (or she) is quite the muscle worship artist, I’ll say. And I know that he (or she) is really looking forward to getting his (or her) hands on those rhomboids of yours, I’ll say.

Or how about the beautiful Russian figure competitor Olga Chestoperova? Granted, she’s considerably less well-known than La Rudison, but if Olga from behind isn’t rocking your boat, she was recently featured looking absolutely glorious on the mighty PumpItUp, so check that out before you ask me what else I’ve got on offer.

Here (left) we have another of Swell’s big 2014 crushes, the recently-competed Brooke Black, in a selfie that wouldn’t have looked out of place if we had posted it as part of last week’s Muscle in a Dress celebration. Or if Brooke doesn’t appeal (iffy reputation and all), then I’m sure the scenario on the right will. Just take a moment to put yourself in that room (behind the camera, perhaps?) and think about what happens next… And no, I don’t know who they are. A Google Images search turned up “Best Guess – female muscle porn star”(!!!) which hardly narrows it down these days.

Feast your eyes on the beautiful symmetry, the insane definition, and on the big, full muscles all over the piece of female muscle art that Ayanna Carroll has created with her back. Feast your eyes as you imagine the fun you could have if tomorrow was the start of a long weekend, Ayana was in this shape, had just handed you a bottle of oil with the instruction to “use it all”, and you had nothing else to do.

Ok. Some of you, I see, are still playing hardball. Well, perhaps Marthe Sundby‘s post-pump lat spread might make you change your mind about continuing to hold out for Jay. Look: it ain’t gonna happen, pal, so give it up. I am offering you Marthe! I’d tell her to go and do her post-pump posing somewhere else. I’d tell her to go and do her post-pump posing at your place. I would do that for you, I really would.

And if you are still here, then this, I’m afraid is my final offer. Virginia, an oiled up explosion of muscle, and it’s you – YOU – she wants to get top of hers undone (her fingers are a bit on the sticky side you see) so you can really get busy exploring…

By the way, the timing of today’s post, with its rather contrived title, is no coincidence. Wings of Strength (the website) should be applauded by all of us female muscle heads for their support of female bodybuilding over the last few years, and in Chicago today the latest event made possible by their sponsorship comes to a close.

No Wonder He’s Smiling (Nervously)

Little more than a blurry screencap as far as I can tell, this week’s Pic of the Week may not be the best picture we’ve ever featured here in terms of quality.

However, I’m pretty confident you won’t forget it in a hurry!

I first thought, “Isn’t she big?” (or words to that effect), feasting my eyes on those huge biceps and, unless it’s a trick of the light, a pair of lats that make her armpits look proper DEEP. There was that, and then there was the almost alien look the hair (or lack of it) gives her, like she’s a kind of divine muscle female from outer space.

But my second thought was “Isn’t she small?” Female muscle clip colossus he may be, but Mr FMC is by no means a giant of a man. And he is bending his knees quite a lot.

Now I’m no scientist, but I do remember (because my Physics teacher drummed into me) that density equals mass over volume, so the fact that Virginia has so much mass packed onto such a small area must mean that that mass is denser than dense can be.

So perhaps he’s smiling a bit nervously because as good, enviable even, as his situation is, he can hear the floor giving way beneath the weight of Virginia’s dense mass…

Back Is Beautiful: Champion Backs

A veritable meat fest today as Back Is Beautiful continues with the magnificent backs of a selection of champions, both professional and amateur, from 2013.

Belated congratulations to Tana, Canadian champion at the 7th attempt (she won the Masters 35+ title for the second consecutive year as well). And spare a thought for those women who sought to follow in Olga Belyakova‘s footsteps and become IFBB World Amateur Champion because currently the IFBB have decided to eliminate the bodybuilding class from that contest and all other IFBB amateur shows. Olga, sadly, may well be the last ever World Amateur Bodybuilding Champion.

Monique Jones, IFBB Chicago Pro Champion

One of the wonders of the female muscle world, Mmmonique displays her monumental back during a guest posing routine. I believe this is from a couple of years ago, and she hasn’t stopped growing in the meantime – she’s even bigger now! Swell’s been having a recurring dream involving Mmmonique’s back, some soft lighting, a bit of mood music and a bottle of massage oil. He’s been going to the laundrette with his bed sheets a bit more often than normal, too.

Virginia Sanchez Macias, Arnold Amateur Europe Champion

Virginia in bulbous off-season shape on the left, and lean and sweaty in the gym on the right. Hard to imagine the power those muscles contain (and what she might use the power they contain to do to me!) Did I say “hard”? I meant “fun”.

Victoria Dominguez, NPC Nationals Champion

As noted on FMS last November, Victoria (aka Mistress Treasure) became quite probably the naughtiest professional female bodybuilder by winning the NPC Nationals. The Muscled Dominatrix dominated her way to victory in the heavyweight category! she blogged after her win. Her back provides an almost perfect illustration of the wider the back, the tinier the waist seems. In 2014, she says she’ll be not only dominating behind closed doors, but also looking to dominate the stage.

Silvana Imbrogno, UKBFF Champion

As reported on FMS in November, Aussie-born Silvana not only became the reigning British champion in 2013, but she also made bodybuilding history. At the UKBFF Midlands show Silvana became the first woman (we know of) to stand on stage and compete against men. By all accounts, she almost won the world’s first unisex posedown. There must be at least a couple of top male amateur bodybuilders around the Midlands who have taken inspiration from Silvana’s mass and conditioning.

Hot and Hard 100 #21 Jennifer Abshire reckons her legs are her best body part, but looking at her from the rear during her victory at the Toronto Pro last year, Swell is sorry, but he has to disagree. And I reckon that beautiful back of hers goes at least part of the way to explaining Mrs Megan Abshire‘s “surprise” win at that show, which was her first show as a pro and her first for three years. Shawna Pierce ,aka Shawna Strong, meanwhile, has had a slightly longer road to pro status but this FMS Woman of the Year 2013 has finally made it. Here we see her showing all the men and the rest of the women on the beach exactly who the boss is.

Tammy Jones, IFBB Tampa Pro Champion

Over ten years after her first competition (as a figure competitor), Tammy Jones won a highly competitive event according to one report, beating the likes of Rita Bello, Tina Chandler and Helle Nielsen to triumph in her first show as a pro. She’s an inspiration to single mothers everywhere… Well, no, actually she isn’t.
But she damn well SHOULD be!

Shannon Courtney, NPC USA Champion

Witness the thickness. Witness the MEAT on FMS Readers’ 2nd Hottest Hard Woman in the World and genetic envy of budding female bodybuilders everywhere. Chocolate Muscle on Tumblr, for one, says, Shannon stresses me out!!! She has probably the best physique I’ve seen in a while, but at one point in time she almost decided to throw that away because she thought that IFBB was getting rid of FBB. That was until they came out with the IFBB 2014 schedule and there were not 4 (like last year), but 5 shows. Since then she has kept with bodybuilding. What stresses me out is that she almost got rid of it to compete at a smaller physique. Man, if I had her body… fuck competing if they cut FBB. I’d keep it just to keep it.

And finally, it has taken years and years of work from some of the top minds in the world to find a dress fabric strong enough to contain the mighty mass of muscle that is Iris Kyle‘s back without ripping apart. And if you’re familiar with what happened straight after this photo was taken, you’ll know those fine minds are still at it.

Sweaty Saturday

There’s already #flexfriday (be warned, women AND men flexing after the jump) and even #tittytuesday (not exclusive to female muscle, of course, but Ashlee Chambers is a fan), FMS is proud to present Sweaty Saturday [actually New York got there first. There is a real Sweaty Saturday there, this year it was February 22nd – a day of fitness, health and wellness. New York City’s finest fitness studios, health brands and wellness experts will offer special classes and amazing music, and there will be plenty of nutritional advice, limited edition goodies, raffles and giveaways. A portion of the proceeds from Sweaty Saturday™ will go to Partnership for Healthier America, which is devoted to working with the private sector to ensure the health of our nation’s youth by solving the childhood obesity crisis. – ed.]

Well, what can I say? Well done New York! That really does sound like a very good cause and a lot of fun at the same time. However, it’s probably not quite as much fun as I can imagine having with these sweaty six-packs… and my tongue! And I’d be happy to lick them all clean to raise money for whatever cause or charity you fancy.

You’re doing what for charity?!

Licking clean the sweaty six-packs of muscular women. As many as I can in an hour. You can either sponsor me by the six-pack, by the litre, or, you know, you can just pop twenty quid in the envelope. What are your plans for this weekend?

You might well be thinking I am beginning to sound like one of those guys who pays top dollar for the used (and unwashed) gym attire of his favourite goddess (again, I think if you want some of that, you could do worse than follow Ashlee Chambers). And you might be right. It’s not something I’ve ever thought about before, but one day I’ll find myself needing to spend that lottery windfall somehow, and these gym heroines always seem to need to supplement their incomes, so why the hell not? Aren’t you even a little bit curious to find out what these sweat-soaked tops would smell like after the workout (and a couple of days in the post following your successful bid)?

And did you know, the more muscle she has, and the heavier she gets, the more sweat she can produce? For example, gorgeous Amanda Folstad Ptak (FMS Hot and Hard 100, see #51) recently told us that she “can fill a bucket with it these days”.

If I’m all alone on this one and you’ve all stopped reading in disgust, then FMS may be taking a large financial hit in the very near future. You see, FMS Inc. has recently invested a not inconsiderable sum in a joint business venture with Virginia Sanchez Macias. If we (and Virginia) have misjudged the market for her post-workout sweat in a bottle, and this product sells as badly as the “Holland Canter Action Girl” figure, it could mean financial ruin (for FMS that is, Virginia should be OK. She can always auction off her tiny sweat-drenched workout vest to make ends meet, after all!)

Sudor de Tora will be available in the shops by the summer.

Contest of the Day: Arnold Classic Europe

11th October, Madrid

Although it is ignored by US muscle websites such as Muscular Development and RxMuscle, for a lot of European fans, the Arnold Classic Europe Amateur competition is one of the most eagerly-anticipated of the year. This year, as with the IFBB Worlds as we reported yesterday, there were no weight classes in the Bodybuilding division, just one open class. Fifteen women lined up, thirteen Europeans, a Brazilian, and Kashma Maharaj, (4th place) competing for the British Virgin Islands.

This year for FMS, the Arnold Amateur was all about the return of Britain’s Lisa Cross. Readers will remember we devoted a whole week to our golden muscle girl in the run up to the contest, working ourselves up into quite a tizz at the thought of Lisa, bronzed and ripped, stepping onto a bodybuilding stage once more. Perhaps she was a little less lush than at her 2011 best, but even so she didn’t disappoint. With her beautiful blond locks complementing her deep deep tan, Lisa exceeded our (ridiculously high) expectations. She was pure mouth-watering muscular sex appeal. And British too! As we reported late on the night of the contest (see Cross Is Back for Real), the judges gave her second place. Whatever. Lisa is back. And how!

Little did we know that as we were going on about Lisa’s return, another competitor was returning from her own ‘break’ from competition. Once we had had a little lie down after checking out Lisa’s showing (courtesy of the ever-dependable TEAM-ANDRO website, who had the pictures up within hours), third place finisher Natalia Yariz of Russia most definitely caught our eye. A little bit of research later and we had her story. Perhaps the best way of describing this year’s Arnold Amateur would be ‘The All-Is-Forgiven Show’! Perhaps there’s a Russian female muscle blog somewhere that devoted a week to the lovely Natalia in anticipation of her return to the stage after a two-year absence…

Who doesn’t like a routine that gets down (and dirty) on the stage floor?

Lithuania’s 4th place finisher at the Worlds, Elena Stasiukyniene, came fifth, rounding off a very satisfactory couple of months for her. And completing the top six was Brazil’s Ana Claudia Pires who I swear looks like a different woman every time I see a new picture of her. Check out her gallery at Girls with Muscle, compare it with the image below, and see what you think.

But despite the hype FMS tried to generate around Lisa, which I’m sure must have had some influence on the judges (!), the night ultimately belonged to Virginia Sanchez Macias, and even we, ardent Lisa fans that we are, couldn’t begrudge ‘La Tora’ her victory.

She may not have been the tallest competitor on the stage, but even to my Lisa-biased gaze, it was clear Virginia was a worthy winner. In her hometown, she was both the most muscular and the best-conditioned woman on the stage. And we really do like what she does with those super-sized lips while she’s flexing.

On her Facebook page on the night of October 11th, probably typing with one hand and still cuddling the trophy with the other, she wrote, Still getting used to the fact that I’ve won the Arnold… thanks to everyone who supports me and follows me on the internet from all over the world, it is a compliment, and helps me a lot as I try to improve every day, a kiss to all. So we all got a kiss from the winner. A kiss from those lips. Sweet.

But wait! There’s more.

It would be remiss of me not to mention the two Physique classes, not least because there were some seriously sexy women among the 28 contestants. Two of the most beautiful women in the world of female muscle, Mavi Gioia and newly-crowned IFBB World Bodybuilding champion Olga Belyakova both competed in the shorter class and came absolutely nowhere – a point which I feel necessitates illustration.

Italian NABBA veteran and FMS fave Federica Ortu, much smoother than we’ve seen her on when competing in NABBA shows (as well as having a posing suit that covers a lot more of her rear than we’re used to) came fifth, and the incredibly gorgeous Joanna Romano of Spain, who finished second, also grabbed our attention in the short class.

But it was in the taller class that the real action was. Spanish stunner and runner-up, Cristina Arellano, unknown to me before this contest, is a woman who I promise to keep a very close eye on in the future. ‘Caliente or what?’ as they say in Madrid when the temperature soars. With her flowing jet black hair and (for me anyway) the best abs in her class, I think she’s just devine.

You can knock Physique if you like, say they’re too small or something, and it’s true these women may not look very big compared to their sisters in the Bodybuilding division, but winner Yeon Woo-ji would be plenty big if she came strutting along your street. And she’s no plain Jane either. Wow.

I did find, though, that while she looks sensational in these pictures, when I watched footage of her on stage, I was a bit underwhelmed. She seemed to be almost embarrassed to be there, rushing through poses. She may have been suffering from cramp for all I know. Apparently a worthy winner in the pictures, having seen video, I am a little surprised that she won.

It was Maria Kuzmina (Russia, 4th) who for me was the one truly class act of the whole show. Maria was the overall NABBA Miss Universe in 2011 and 2012, and I doubt she will be ignored by Muscular Development or RxMuscle for very much longer. She looks (to me) like a pro already. A pro who could be a serious challenger in the biggest US shows, a serious challenger for the biggest titles in the sport.

Maria oozes stage presence, and in fact won the final round. Her fourth place finish was probably down to her softer look in comparison to the top three, but hey, what do I know? Well, I know what I like and I really really like sourcing images of Maria Kuzmina to post here. I’ll just roll my tongue back into my mouth, pick my jaw off the floor and start typing with both hands again…

Selfies of the Day: Virginia by Virginia

I think we can all agree that 2013 Arnold Europe Amateur champion Virginia Sanchez Macias needs to get a better camera. A body like that, it seems to me, deserves a higher definition image. However, it has to be said that Virginia does get a lot of use out of that phone of hers. She must have taken hundreds of shots of her lovely self, and shared them with us. So, this selection today represents only a fraction of the selfies Virginia has taken in the last couple of years.

Her selfies document her ever-changing hair and her ever-growing body. On just a 5’3″ (1.60m) frame, she carries a beastly amount of muscle. Real Female Bodybuilding.com reckon that pound for pound and inch for inch Virginia is probably the most muscular female bodybuilder in the world. Whether that is true or not, she does, at least, deserve to feature in the conversation.

She was born and lives in Madrid, so her victory there must have felt even sweeter for being in her hometown. At 42, and having been bodybuilding on and off for the best part of 25 years, she now has an international title. Hats off to her.

Earlier in the year, FMS dubbed Virgina ‘La Tora’ or the female bull(!). Not very biologically-correct, we know, but we’re sticking with it. Olé!

She’s a former model, and a mother. I hope to improve my body everyday and I hope to be healthy to be able to train and compete for many years, she says. And I can only hope that she’ll continue to take more and more shots of herself.

Perhaps with a better camera though…

Backstage of the Day

You know times are hard when the female bodybuilders backstage area is out the back, next to the recycling bins. Even so, Virginia ‘La Tora’ Sanchez and her co-competitors have managed to draw a crowd. Surprisingly though, competitor 135 isn’t getting too much attention, although the blond lady in the foreground on the left does seem to be appreciating Virginia in all her tanned and defined magnificence.

A couple of poses later, and Virginia has made sure the photographer’s lens stays trained on her, and has also caught the attention of a suited official. If he’s looking where I think he’s looking then we can confirm that VSM is looking as good from behind as she does from front on. If not better.

And for today’s backstage clip, Salla Kaurenen‘s last-minute pump. Wait till the end when she speaks to camera to see how excited a woman about to walk on stage can be. Added bonuses in this clip include Katka Kyptova in the light blue in front of Salla in the queue, and a not-at-her-best Mary Lynn McKenzie admiring Salla’s physique as the fantastic Finn hits her poses for the camera. Anyone know which contest this was?
